About Brazos

The United States Pony Clubs, Inc., develops character, leadership, confidence and a sense of community in youth through a program that teaches the care of horses and ponies, riding and mounted sports.

Brazos Pony Club serves the greater Brazos Valley area with members from age seven to adults. Our kids focus on horse management with the help of our Junior Board where our older, more experienced members plan and lead and also our Buddy System in which each senior member mentors a younger member. Our riders participate in rallies competing within our region in Show Jumping, Dressage, Eventing, and unmounted Quiz. We have riders at all stages of learning and members who are amazing supporters of each other at all of our Pony Club activities.

We have monthly mounted meetings at locations around the Brazos Valley with a variety of trainers, most of who do not regularly instruct our members giving them new experiences. Mounted meetings focus on upcoming rallies or focus on skills to improve overall mounted horsemanship. All mounted meetings are accompanied by unmounted Horse Management and a service project. We have occasional unmounted meetings planned throughout the year to visit area breeding farms, equine hospitals, racetracks and more. The members also have occasional meetings with the Junior Board to plan upcoming horse management, fund-raisers, and other special events. Our members have amazing leadership skills.

USPC Pony Clubs and Riding Centers are assigned to one of 41 geographical regions, which are administered by a volunteer Regional Supervisor (RS) and other appointed and elected officers. Regions offer additional activities and opportunities for members and support for the club and center leaders under their administration. Brazos Pony Club is part of the Rio Grande Region. Visit the region's website for the contact information for the Regional Officers.
